RRBS service now validated on NovaSeq6000
RRBS method (Ovation RRBS Methyl-Seq with TrueMethyl oxBS, Tecan) is now tested and validated on NovaSeq6000 for sequencing offering cheaper methylation analysis
Reduced representation bisulfite sequencing (RRBS) is an efficient and high-throughput technique for analysing the genome-wide methylation profiles on a single nucleotide level. GCF has offered an RRBS service using the NextSeq500 instrument. We have now validated this assay using the Illumina NovaSeq6000 platform, which decreases sequencing costs for methylation analysis. The Ovation Methyl-Seq workflow combines stagger to eliminate low sequence diversity and increases base quality and UMI’s to account for non-unique reads from the data set. The required input material is 100 ng genomic DNA, from purified high-quality material to FFPE DNA.

The Genomics and Bioinformatics Core Facilities resumes the drop-in hour every Wednesday between 2:30-3:30 PM. Follow the Zoom link below.
The Genomics Core Facility will not be accepting new sample submissions over the summer break. The deadline for submission is noon on Friday 7th of July. We will reopen again on Tuesday 1st of August. The sequencing of existing projects will continue, although turnaround times may be longer than usual.
We wish all our users a good summer
